NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Infineon Technologies AG (IFX, news, msgs), JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU, news, msgs), Nortel Networks Corp. (NT, news, msgs) and privately held LightLogic signed a multiple scorce agreement for common specification on small footprint transponders to support the optical networking market.
In a press release Friday, Infineon, a semiconductor company based in Munich, Germany, said the OC-192 SDH/SONET transponder device provides optical-to-electrical conversion for local area networks to metropolitan networks that is four times faster than the standard OC-48 products available today.
New York Stock Exchange-listed shares of Infineon traded recently at $66.88, up 94 cents, or 1.4%, on composite volume of 88,500. Average daily volume of 227,463.
Shares of JDS Uniphase Corp. traded on the Nasdaq Market recently at $123.38, down $1.11, or 0.9%, on composite volume of 9.4 million shares. Average daily volume is 23 million shares.
New York Stock Exchange-listed shares of Nortel Networks traded recently at $82.81, up $1.31, or 1.6%, on composite volume of 5.8 million shares. Average daily volume is 10.3 million shares.
