What is up with the huge drop in the Gold price today?

Anyone know of any news?

I read in one of the financial newspapers that the US Fed met today to discuss QE2 and there was some doubt they'd go actually go ahead.  In view of that doubt gold took a pounding but after the markets closed the Fed announced QE2 was going to happen.  So, we need to see what happens in tomorrow's market to determine whether that writer has interpreted the chicken

I read yesterday that someone in Europe triggered a huge sell .. and then the same trader was buying at the end of the day.. so we will see POG bounce as the new year is upon us.. also have some traders taking money also now that we are into a new tax year so to speak.. job figures are positive but lets see what they look like in Jan and FEb after the Christmas hiring is behind us.. for me nothing

Tapping my pencil also thinking about buying. Talking heads are trying push the market into a correction, but we havea bullish ascending triangle on gold and the S&P 500. We could see a major move to the upside once the shorts get squeezed.
