The growing popularity of Electric Vehicles is expected to continue to drive demand for lithium, so many are searching for the next high-potential junior to invest in. One worth digging into is Allied Copper Corp. (Tickers: CPR.V or CPRRF for US investors). Today CPR.v closed almost 13% up with above-average volume.
On April 20th, Allied Copper Corp. is scheduled to change its name to Volt Lithium, as the company shifts its focus to its lithium subsidiary of the same name. This rebranding initiative is anticipated to significantly increase the company's exposure in the lithium market.
Volt Lithium's primary lithium asset is its Rainbow Lake Property located in NW Alberta, which is believed to hold 78 billion barrels of lithium-infused brine with lithium grades of up to 119 mg/L.
While Cabot Energy, Volt's partner, controls the petroleum and gas rights for the project, Volt controls the mineral extraction rights to Rainbow Lake. Cabot has already discovered the project's lithium reserves as it has been operating a petroleum and gas operation on the project for some time.
As a result, Volt is not required to carry out any exploration work on the project and can utilize Cabot's existing oil and gas wells, leading to cost savings for the company. This strategic position puts Volt ahead of many junior lithium firms with similar valuations.
Volt Lithium is currently gearing up to execute a pilot program that will showcase its proficiency in extracting lithium from Rainbow Lake's brines. This trial will enable Volt to perfect its methodology, determine the most suitable equipment, and demonstrate the project's viability.
Should the pilot production yield favourable outcomes, Volt will proceed with preparations for commercial operations. To reduce shareholder dilution, Volt intends to commence with modest lithium production and gradually expand its operations as it generates more capital.
