Hudbay is the one selling the copper right now on VMS's behalf and aren't they hedged to $2.40 or so?

Whoops. I think I got HBM mixed up with a different copper producer. Sorry for the confusion.

HBM might have hedged but that does not mean VMS shares in their hedge. HBM could buy VMS share at market and sell the whole thing in their hedge. Signing deals with HBM has always been perilous....
