The following ASE Do-it-Yourself (DIY) Workshops are being offered to in-person attendees at ASE 2024 as an additional conference option. After registering for ASE 2024, sign up for a DIY Workshop(s). DIY Workshops are separate ticketed events with limited capacity that allow for individualized learning. For most DIY Workshops, there are two registration options available:
SCANNER – This option offers participants hands-on scanning experience and the opportunity to master techniques directly on five ultrasound systems. Each scanner will have ten minutes at each ultrasound system. Registration is limited to five (5) participants per workshop session.
Price: $30.00 USD.
OBSERVER – This option allows participants to hear and see the different techniques available on multiple ultrasound systems. Hands-on scanning is not available with this registration option. Registration is limited to twenty-five (25) participants per workshop session.

- *NEW* Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Certificate Program DIY Workshop

These sessions are designated for participants seeking to obtain a Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Module Certificate of Completion. Participants will practice the evaluation of HCM, focusing on correct measurements, gradient evaluation, and scanning techniques. This DIY Workshop is only available to scanners and requires participants to complete pre-requisite online modules in the ASE Learning Hub before June 14.

These sessions allow participants to observe or perform processing for strain imaging and measurements of the left ventricle, right ventricle, and left atrium from experts in the field. - 3D Volumes & Valves DIY Workshop

These sessions allow participants to observe or interact with different vendors to explore manipulation of three-dimensional volumes, use software to calculate an ejection fraction, and provide instruction for on-cart cropping of the mitral valve and tricuspid valve. - Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease DIY Workshop
5:00 PM – 5:50 PM
This session allows participants to observe or scan pediatric patients with congenital heart disease. Expert sonographers and physicians will provide assistance and education, and will discuss the type of congenital heart disease present in the model and how the ultrasound protocol needs to be tailored to answer the clinical questions.

2:00 PM – 2:50 PM
This session allows participants to observe or scan adult patients with congenital heart disease. It will provide the opportunity for congenital and non-congenital participants alike to master the assessment of lesions commonly encountered in ACHD clinics. Cases will be displayed on cart for processing with discussion of additional views based on the type of CHD. - Vascular DIY Workshop
3:00 PM – 3:50 PM
This session allows participants to observe or perform ultrasound imaging of the carotid artery, abdominal aorta, and lower extremity veins. B-mode, color Doppler, and spectral Doppler techniques will be observed and performed.
