If someone had the time it would be interesting to see who the analyst's firm works with. Did they get an upgrade? Did the company they want to buy get downgraded? Obviously, lots of money to be made on M&A in the oil patch right now. A little help positioning the buyer higher and the target lower can mean millions to these firms. So unless you can know absolutely what their motives are, these are all useless. Just keep an eye out for mergers and buyouts and see who is behind it and if they issued rec's in past 6 months. T
