I think everyone here thought the dividend would be cut and most were hoping for it. It wasn't a big suprise. I think you were the one predicting that the stock would never hit 1.15 again too, which it did.
As far as the Forex discussion goes you missed my point. I agree that US money will flow to CDN investments when the currency is favorable. My point is that it is not a pure forex play. There is a reason that LRE was chosen. They believe in the company and it's future. Your initial post made it sound like the money was simply going to LRE as a pure forex play.
I'm not sure why you are calling me a fool in regards to the slide in the cureency. I agree with you and I'm ok with the CDN dollar pulling back. I think at times your posting to reassure yourself and not to exchange ideas with other investors.
I don't need reassurance pal, I'm here to simply educate and help retail who are always behind the game. Retail act after the fact, when money is 90% gone which is what happen here, at 3 I was warning people here to get out of it as it being articifially propped up by the so called div yield - people saw that and said wow I'm getting paid to hold it.
the divi going to zero no one saw until it became reality to folks here that there's no V rebound oil - it'll get whipped around.
I close out my short position from my 1st trade at 1.15 and that was a short from 3, hanged on to some as I knew there were no risk of it running up even.
I close out the rest of my position actually at 1.01 - a traded netted me in six figures. I even said that this stock will likely run up again and to sell on any strength. Yes I called 1.15-1.20 being top but it ran a few cents to 1.30 - it oveshot but hopefully you get the big picture.
most of you are not investors but gamblers as you're betting that there's a rebound in oil (not happening) and putting your hard earned money in a company like LRE - with huge amount of debts that are unsustainable with a real possibility of going bankrupt >80%
no you missed my point - it didn't became reality to you that it is - you wanted it laid out as I laid out and now you're agreeing to it. But what is your point? pls do tell - why would money flow in Canada if not for the strong USD? I call it a forex play - call it whatever you want.
pls do tell and educate me I'm willing to hear your side but keep it smart - maybe I missed something but I don't think so.
