Well being an oil and gas company, is that not how the banks determine how much they will lend to you?   By  asessing  your pp reserves and lending you money on your projected ability to pay.
My point is that the oil and gas in da ground are really as good as money in da bank............its just a question of how much money those reserves are worth.  The banks would be very silly to think that a cyclical industry like the oil and gas would have high or low prices forever. Its not as if interest rates are really high now so i do not get where all this negativity comes from?
