A complete takeover would've been nice.Who knows one might
have been in the works and the suitor got cold feetitis.How many
other companies had deals lined up only to have them fall thru
when oil tanked.We will never know for sure.The disappointing
part is how few takeovers have occurred so far.Legacy was
extremely lucky CPG came along.
All things considered LRE was fortunate this offer wasn't torn up.
How many other companies have good offers on the table.
Most companies would be lucky to do an issue at market prices.
It helped that MIE was the one that approached LRE and not
the other way around.LRE was one of the first to tank and this
might have saved their bacon.LRE was one of the few el cheapos
at the time when MIE was on the hunt.Now there's so many good deals
around and unfortunately a lot more to come.
