When a company acquires another company as well as the “Flowing Barrels”
(not all of which have equal value) they also acquire the associated Infrastructure, Acreage and Reserves.
Comparing COS to LRE is like comparing Apples and Potatoes
(Ridicules !!) If the market felt that there was the possibility of a competing offer for LRE coming along it would be reflected in the Share Price. IT’s NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !!
If it was it would have happened by now! The current trading on LRE and LRE.DB indicates that the market sees some risk that the current offer won’t successfully close.
Personally I think that odds of this offer being successful are quite high. That said there is never a Guarantee and The Deal is Not Done Until The Money Changes Hands.
