What happens if the deal doesn't go through????

i bought this months ago as a contrairian play on oil recovery. 
This stock used to move with oil. No its stuck in the mud with this Chinese deal, that might or might now happen

will this start to trade as it use too if the deal falls through???
Its too bad because this was going to be a good contrarian play, but now..its dead money

any comments????

Yeah, my comment is you don't know what you're talking about.  Through all of 2015 this stock was on a negative slope with only a couple of mini rallies.  Once the stock tanked it was trading based on bankrupcy risk, not the price of oil. Then the deal was announced in late December and since then its traded on the back of a buyout. This stock has been completely decoupled from ...more

you obviosuly did not understand my post, so i will clarify. I bought this about a year ago at 0.70 cents and at the time it was tarding down with OIL and at one time it did trade along side oil...then it tanked yes... you still did not answer my question regardless if you think i know what i am talking about or not WHAT HAPPEN IF THIS DEAL FALLS THROUGH AND DOES NOT GO FORWARD is it back to ...more

This stock hasn't traded with oil since 2014. As for what happens if the deal falls through?  Nobody knows but a good starting point would be to assume it'll fall somewhere close to where it was before the buyout was announced which is in the 20 cent range. If the buyout fails and there's no plan B this stock will fall over 50%.  I don't think anybody who is playing ...more

The company is offside of its debt covenants so the banks are in control.  Should the banks force liquidation, common shareholders will likely get nothing, and deb holders may get nothing.  It's difficult to predict because it is a matter of what buyers would be prepared to pay for the assets at the time it occurs. Good analysis Scottie99, based on facts & not hysteria. The Lenders do not want to lose money & bankruptcy isn't as easy as many of the people on this board think. LRE is still owned by the majors with money who will fight to fend off losses.
