It comes from people who are supposedly close to and talk with Kurt wether or not it's factually correct information is an entirely different conversation. Kurt does not have to report and therefore could be telling people he didn't sell even if he did nobody knows for sure.

How would he know? Kurt does not have to report his trades as he was not an insider after he left.
