Handbook on Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Implementation in the GTHA

Given the availability of biogas and its existing uses in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), municipalities in this region may be in an excellent position to implement RNG systems. Ideal for municipal officials and staff, the RNG Handbook for Municipalities in the GTHA reviews RNG sources, production, benefits, and provides an outline for RNG project planning and implementation. RNG presents a unique opportunity not only to tackle GHG emissions and improve local air quality, but also to advance a circular economy for municipalities.  This handbook outlines essential planning decisions and strategies to implement RNG systems for GTHA municipalities and address the environmental and financial benefits of implementing RNG into local gas utility distribution systems.

There are 3 potential landfill sites for RNG in addition to the Dufferin site for XBC, GTA RNG landfill sites The handbook (p. 40) mentions XBC for the Disco site in 2021.  There is also the Green Lane (nothing to do with GRN) site which I understand is the largest.  There is also Keele Valley which is closed but could be reopened / have methane extracted.
