Are you worried?

You shouldn't be.
Look around you.
Plug is down 11% today, having already traded down 68% from its high prior to today. FuelCell, already down 71%, is down 8% today. Ballard, already down 63%, has shed another 6% today.
All have traded above-average volumes.
Xebec last traded at $4.15. Big Deal!. It traded at $4.15 on March 16th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st, April 20th, and again today.
We've been here before.

You'd have to be off your rocker to sell this mid-day as opposed to waiting to see how it closes.

Franky, I'm looking forward to seeing how it closes.
This is the stock market. This is what it does.
This isn't scary, it's interesting.

Big fan of your posts TT - not to pin you down on a number; but what do you think S/P closes at on the day of Q1 earnings announcement. Do you think above 5? Cheers
Comment by tamaracktop on May 06, 2021 2:30pm
I rarely respond to questions posted on the board. Almost never. Messages yes, posts no.    In this case, I'll make an exception, while at the same time acknowledging I'm no guru.    In response to your question about whether or not Xebec closes above $5 on the 13th, my honest answer is I don't have a clue. Obviously, I'd like to think it will. ...more

Roger! Thanks for humouring me with that response. Let's look for that uptick in S/P and increase in volume at the close on the 12th! Cheers.

rookie: in my opinion, the bigger question is what will you do if the news is bad? are you prepared to buy more a $3.00? or would you be a seller at that price? too many people here are constantly catching the falling knife i ask why?  no one (except the CEO and a few others) knows what the true story is why gamble your hard earned cash on a lottery ticket? these guys appear to have ...more

I agree - although you make it sound so easy to identify when to bottom is in and the uptrend has resumed. So many times we've speculated that "oh this must be the bottom" after a sustained downtrend and a few green days, only to be dragged down by a bad earnings report from an industry peer or market sector sell off . What I THOUGHT was the bottom, was indeed another falling knife.  ...more

don't guess, don't hope, speculate only when the odds are in your favour 'long term' uptrends and downtrends take weeks, months and sometimes years to show themselves (short term trading trends can be had by the minute, hour, day etc) pls look at the 1 year chart xbc is currently trading below all support and this will not change until they offer something good (or possibly  ...more

I completely agree - thanks for that perspective. GLTA.

There is a reason why I have Xebec in a non-registered account. If Xebec craps out and goes bankrupt, I will just take a tax loss and move on. I am going to have massive capital gains on my bank stocks when I retire anyway. But I am very long and strong on Xebec, and I don't think Xebec is going bankrupt ever.

That's the spirit friend! The first half of the last sentence anyway.

There is a reason why I have Xebec in a (registered) TFSA. When Xebec progresses upwards or explodes, I will generate no capital gains tax. I am very long and strong on Xebec, and I don't think Xebec is going bankrupt ever.

@savy, agreed.  All that to say that all investment 'pools' have their advantages and disadvantages. Simply need to mamange them as optimally as possible. At the end of the day I think Canadians have a decent set of investing options with which to juggle and help meet short to long term needs. [/quote]

TT stated ..."You'd have to be off your rocker to sell this mid-day as opposed to waiting to see how it closes.... This is the stock market. This is what it does. This isn't scary, it's interesting." Well, maybe because at the time Xebec was trading at $4.15. Right now, it's at $4.14, and the market hasn't closed yet.

Actually, I posted that comment about being "off your rocker to sell at midday" at 11:52 am.     Plug had already been down 11%, FuelCell down 8%, Ballard down 6%, and Greenlane down 6%. Xebec was down 2.8%.    It seemed to me very likely that the damage was done for that day, and that selling Xebec at $4.15 would be inadvisable, as one would take on ...more

I would think you'd have far more reason to be suspicious of someone who owned the stock that was consistently posting the bull case, rather than someone who doesn't. That someone being me, having stated very clearly on this board only slightly more than 3 years ago that Xebec was very simply the most attractive situation I'd encountered after 30 years as a stockbroker. Its trailing 4 ...more

BOOM in your face you Twiit. And FYI he owns shares but GGreen his holds them for him. So bug off, cause you know nothing about the stock market and you are just one of those dudes who can't admit that you'd be long gone if you haven't been reading The Professor.
