Interesting power grid tonight

Interesting power grid tonight July and august may get some help with air conditioning for Alberta ng but the spring is going to get very rough if it is windy.

only 406 mw of coal generation power going right now out of total demand of 9803 mw which includes exports to bc.
Whenever it is windy in Alberta, bc seems to import more power from Alberta  because so cheap and they can conserve water for their dams.

they have opened such big wind farms in Alberta in last 2 years that when it is windy, wind is getting the power demand from coal closures and ng is sitting at the 5000-7200 mw hour range depending on the day.

wind is 3578 mw right now, incredible.

last spring Alberta was lucky to see 1800-2400 mw a hour days for wind.

ng is 5000 mw instead of normal 6000 last spring because of opening of new wind farms since spring of 2023.
5000 mw hour of ng power generation is terrible

without even looking at power prices they must be so insanely cheap spot market for electrity
