Thanks for the link Probability, I just listened to it.

I would have to disagree with upanddown about it's just about the patent, albeit a win would be significant.

The CERN decision does not seem to revolve around a patent win at all by what I heard in that BNN interview, but it did seem that ZMS needs a company like Hamamatsu in order to deliver if they get the CERN order.

It does seem that Zecotek's crystals are the prime candidate for CERN, so that too would be significant.  It doesn't seem the patent issue is involved here whatsoever.

A win of course would help, but it doesn't seem to be everything.  Looks like some form of update is expected by end of this month.

Personally I would like to see a decision made by CERN.  That would greatly derisk the technology, IMO.
