RE:Dr. Arenton; "Pleased with the performance...He's a tester. His job is to test whether it would work or not. Of coure he tests the prequisites for USE in the CMS, that's his job. What did you expect him to test exactly ?

As far as we know he might not even be involved in the decision process once everything is measured and it is established that it would work  (in fact, he's almost certainly not, else such a statement would be quite strange, especially if they end up choosing someone else's crystal).  So altough the NR sure was useful this time, if only because we learned that the CERN has not gone elsewhere for now, it's still more hype for something that is totally unpredictable.
