On my 2006 Canadian statements, I see Bell Alliant being spun off from BCE at 35.10 One (1) Bell Alliant (BA.UN) for 1.181 shares of BCE Hopes this helps someone

BA Conversion to BCE
For those who converted to BCE, the price that you would have to get for your BA would have to be $32.55 to equal the price of BCE high today times the conversion = $51 X .6371= $32.55 Happy I sold

Hope this helps to Clarify the cash and BCE shares when selling into the BCE offer. Also if non-registered shares were sold one can defer the taxes until the BCE shares are sold by completing a form
