It offers two types of shares, including Preferred shares and Class A shares. Its investment objectives with respect to Preferred Shares are to provide holders with fixed cumulative preferential monthly cash...
dividends in an amount of $0.04583 per Preferred share to yield 5.5% per annum on the $10 repayment amount and to return the $10 repayment amount to their holders on the termination date. Its investment objectives with respect to Class A Shares are to provide holders with regular monthly cash distribution targeted to be $0.10 per Class A share and return the original issue price to their holders on the termination date. The net asset value per unit must remain above the required $15 per unit threshold for distributions to be declared. Its investment manager is Quadravest Capital Management Inc.

I hold FFN prefs as well. In fact, I hold a core variety of prefs that will continue to pay during a downturn, which will invariably arrive at some point and Jaime Dimon can celebrate. No doubt there

Ed, preferreds got hit during those events too. Not as bad as commons but they were not immune. Also, no one knows when the next black swan event is. Timeline between your examples was as low as 7

Showing a loss of 36 cents in the spreadsheet, and so common shares would be valued @ $5.04 Not much safety left there , but DFN commons are at a slight discount with the last sale @ $4.85

So did up the spreadsheet quickly to see where we stand, on this split fund.. and its close to the bubble for paying to commons. These ones with more diversity away from financials are doing better
