I do at least one trip per year which involves around 3k kilometers of driving (so, pretty far) over around 15 days (200 km avg per day). Lodging and dining costs (for 2) for those trips is around $4k ...more

I don't think higher fuel costs will reduce travel in general, I think people will be more inclined to travel closer to where they live. If you think about it, even at double the cost, the fuel ...more

I agree high gas prices might discourage some travel, but then HOT.un has a number of lower-priced hotels which might actually get more guests if gas costs them more. Spend more on gas, save on ...more

I'm wondering how much hotels will be effected by these crazy gas and diesel prices. What percentage of travellers will opt to stay home until prices come down?
