Repost from Feb 8, RIM at $80

Repost from Feb 8, RIM at $80 Repost: "I covered my short position today, at a profit, ...because RIM is now going to head sharply higher over the next 17 days IMO. I expect the patent disputes to be resolved in a win/win manner. Blackberry users will not be disrupted, and NTP and RIM will be forced to cut the crap and enter a truce based on a financial settlement which is larger than the previous amount set aside, but smaller than the current grab. There is enough uncertainty in the legitimacy of the claims that the judge will not be faulted for giving NTP either something or nothing. The judge will only be faulted if he rules against RIM in which case corporate America will scream blue murder about the potential communications disruption, and the resulting increased incentive for patent holders to play an opportunistic game of letting others develop their ideas and take the risks only to later lose the gains in court. NTP can not and will not gamble based on the uncertainty from the US PO and nor should RIM. Courts can be right or wrong, but when a decision is to be ruled final, a fat bird in the hand is worth more than 10 in the bush and all the lawyers know that..... If NTP accepts 750 mil plus ongoing royalties, which I believe they would in a heartbeat and consider it a win for themselves, RIM can pay for it with the increase in market capitalization they will instantly make for settling the matter. I think a lot of money will be made on Feb 24, and this is a story in the making. I reserve the right to be wrong as the views expressed here are solely my opinion, however I have a good track record and I see the opportunity to make a great deal of money on the clong side.. leveraged by call options of course! This is my present opinion on the matter.....what is yours? It is still my opinion. Looking forward to the outcome. Good luck to all and spend your profits wisely.
