ELECTION UPDATEWhile the runner up still remains undeclared, the concensus is that Garcia has enough confirmed votes to be named in the run-off.
A Datum poll taken from Apr. 19th to 21st shows that in a runoff between Humala and Garcia that Garcia is leading right now with 54% of the popular vote, vs. Humala with 46%. I'm pretty sure that Garcia's lead will continue to grow and that he will end up winning the election.
This is good for foreign companies - although Garcia is not as right-wing as Flores, he is more willing to work with outside interests as long as they are helping to raise the economic status of Peru.
This should go a long way in restoring investor confidence in the political situation and hopefully translate into better times for this stock. That and a hit or two of significant values in ANY of the metals present on these properties.....
