RE: which is better?
RE: which is better?I considered owning physical silver but chose silver producer companies for the following reasons:
While neither item is immune from price decline, stocks can be sold in seconds.
As posted eralier, the buy-sell spread for physical silver (especially coins) consumes much of any potential gain.
Good silver mines can still generate profits and appreciate at lower silver prices, reducing downside risks.
Should a price spike occur as I expect, the leverage of large deposits works wonders.
If the doomsday scenarios actually happen, other things would likely be more important than physical silver (food for example). The world will not stop entirely so I do not forsee silver coins saving me. Eliminating all debts should be the first priority so nobody can take away what you do have. If you owe paper dollars, you must obtain paper dollars. What will happen to your silver if you are going bankrupt?? There are no guarantees with anything though.
Best of luck.
