Mt. Andrew Results

Mt. Andrew ResultsFull Metal Discovers IOCG Mineralization at Mt. Andrew: 48.8 Meters of 0.72% Cu VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 22, 2007 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX) -- (CCN Mathews) Full Metal Minerals (TSX VENTURE:FMM) is pleased to announce that final assay results have been received from its 100% owned Mount Andrew Copper-Gold Property, located in Southeast Alaska. In October and November 2006, Full Metal completed 481 meter core drilling program targeting historic occurrences of copper-gold mineralization. An initial five shallow (less than 100 meter) drill holes targeted the periphery edge of the historic underground and surface workings. Four of five holes encountered multiple intersections of magnetite-chalcopyrite mineralization. Mineralization at Mount Andrew is open in all directions and Full Metal intends to aggressively follow-up this discovery commencing in March or April. 2006 results are as follows: Click here for additional information The style of mineralization and alteration encountered at Mount Andrew suggests an IOCG (iron-oxide copper-gold) system. Copper mineralization occurs within semi-massive to massive magnetite bodies within andesitic volcanic rocks, and intermediate intrusive rocks, later cross-cut by post-mineralization dykes. KMA06-02 was collared in, and drilled down one of these late dykes. Andestic rocks commonly exhibit tactite-style alteration, coupled with strong potassic alteration. A drill hole location map can be reviewed shortly on Full Metal's website at www.fullmetalminerals.com. The Mount Andrew Property is located near tidewater in Southeast Alaska. Historic production from Mount Andrew and adjacent operations totaled 5,729 tonnes copper, 1.74 tonnes silver and 216 kg gold. This production figure was compiled from historic literature including the Alaska Bureau of Mines, has not been independently verified and should not be relied upon. The Mount Andrew deposit was drilled extensively for iron ore by Utah Construction (Utah International/BHP) in 1957 and 1960-1961 and by Kaiser Resources in 1970-1971. The 2006 exploration program for the Mount Andrew Project was supervised by William T. Ellis, CPG with Alaska Earth Sciences, an Anchorage-based Consulting Group and a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Drill cores were cut in half using a diamond saw, with one-half placed in sealed bags, and delivered to ALS-Chemex Labs facility in Vancouver, B.C. A sample quality control/quality assurance program is in place. Robert McLeod P.Geo., VP Exploration for Full Metal Minerals and Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 prepared and approved the information contained in this release. Full Metal has thirteen active mineral projects in Alaska including the high-grade Lucky Shot Gold Project, and two new zinc-lead-silver discoveries at the Company's 40 Mile Project. Full Metal has Joint Venture Agreements with Metallica Resources, Triex Minerals Corp, Afognak Native Corp., and Andover Ventures. ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Michael Williams, President and Director SOURCE: Full Metal Minerals Ltd.
