Herb, here''s the newsGWR welcomes Dr. David Bailey, reports assay results
VANCOUVER, June 28 /CNW/ - GWR Resources Inc. is pleased to welcome Dr.
David G. Bailey P.Geo. to the Lac La Hache project. Dr. Bailey holds a B.Sc.
1st Class, Geology from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and a
Ph.D., Geology from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.
Dr. Bailey's professional memberships include the Canadian Institute of
Mining and Metallurgy, the Geological Association of Canada, the Geological
Society of America, the Association of Exploration Geochemists, the Society of
Economic Geologists, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and
the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C.
Dr. Bailey's professional history since 1972 includes planning,
implementing, and managing exploration programs, regional and project
evaluations worldwide. He has significant experience in China, the former
Soviet republics, Mongolia, Southeast Asia, Australia, West Africa, Europe and
throughout the Americas, and has done extensive work in the Mount Polley -
Likely areas.
Dr. Bailey's previous positions include operating Bailey Geological
Consultants (Canada) Ltd. since 1983, Regional Manager for the Electrolytic
Zinc Company of Australia, Chief Geologist for AGIP Canada Ltd., Senior
Regional Geologist for the Newfoundland Department of Mines, Project Manager
for Otter Explorations Ltd., and has held Directorships with several
exploration companies listed on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchanges.
Dr. Bailey has numerous publications to his credit, including several on
the Quesnel Trough, which includes the Lac La Hache project.
GWR Resources Inc. has instituted a Geological Advisory Board, to assist
and consult with the ongoing exploration at Lac La Hache. The Board will
initially consist of Mr. Gary Roste, P.Geo., and Mr. Rob Shives (formerly with
the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC)).
Gary L.Roste is a graduate geologist from the University of British
Columbia. Mr. Roste graduated in 1986 and has been employed entirely in the
mining industry since that time. He is currently employed by Imperial Metals
Corporation at the Mount Polley Mine since August of 2003. Gary was a member
of the exploration team that developed the Mount Polley Northeast zone.
Previously, Gary spent several years in Argentina as project geologist for
Golden Peaks Resources Ltd.
Rob Shives is a geologist/geophysicist, with over 28 years post-graduate
(Carleton, 1979) experience in private exploration and public sectors, in a
variety of gold (vein, porphyry and epithermal) and uranium environments, with
emphasis on application of gamma-ray spectrometric techniques to bedrock and
surficial mapping and practical exploration for a wide variety of commodities.
As Head, Radiation Geophysics Section, Mineral Resources Division,
Geological Survey (1998 to April 2007), Rob managed Section activities
including the National Gamma-Ray Spectrometry Program (NATGAM), to ensure
ongoing collection of high quality, public domain airborne and ground gamma
ray spectrometric data over Canada's landmass. This work included airborne and
ground survey design, contract preparation/supervision, data interpretation
and field spectrometric studies in and outside Canada to further develop case
histories in established and new geological settings. Rob has presented
successful applications as formal published papers, short courses, talks and
posters, worldwide. He has been very actively promoting practical application
of airborne gamma ray/mag surveys in BC for over 15 years and has just left
GSC to start a new consulting firm GamX Inc., to provide clients with
interpretation/application of gamma spectrometric and magnetic surveys,
training, workshops, and field follow-up supervision.
Rob worked closely with GWR's field geological team to design the 2005
airborne gamma ray/mag survey of the Spout Lake Property (Lac la Hache
Property) and to compile and interpret results in the context of a potentially
large porphyry Cu-Au system, similar to many of the known deposits throughout
BC's prolific Quesnel Trough. Recognition of this potential has supported a
new exploration approach and the early results to date are encouraging.
New Drilling Results
Six drill holes have been completed to date in the 2007 drilling program.
Hole No. AZ-07-11, collared 750 metres northwest of hole No. AZ-06-01,
returned intersections as high as 6.53 g/t AU and 0.11% CU. Hole No. AZ-07-12,
collared 350 metres northwest of hole AZ-06-01, returned values as high as
0.29 g/t AU and 0.11% CU. Assay results from the remaining four holes are
still pending.
The results from these 2 holes, when related to the 2006 drilling
program, indicate mineralization over a considerable distance, and are highly
encouraging for expansion of the 2006 Aurizon zone. Highlights from the assays
received to date are as follows:

The second drilling rig is mobilizing and should commence operations
approximately July 3 or earlier. This drill will commence to expand the known
mineralized zone delineated in the 2006 drilling program. The drill currently
onsite will continue to drill to the north of the Aurizon zone, in order to
further test the targets identified in the 2006/2007 trenching program.
All samples were assayed by Ecotech Laboratories in Kamloops, B.C.
