Some honest thoughtsIf it is true that the Mongolians are not voting on the IA this session I would like to express some thoughts. I have found it unfortunate that IVN has been forced to deal with such greedy and self-important people for some time. The fact that their country even encompasses the section of the Gobi dessert that includes the OT site is only attributable to the fact that Russia and China find it convenient to have such a large buffer zone between them than to any ability of the Mongolians themselves to defend their borders (2.5 million people living in an area the size of Europe).
The Mongolians in former times would be subject to retaliation for the stunts they have been pulling seeing as they invited the miners in when they were down on their luck, but they know that China and/or Russia will protect them (certainly they cannot defend themselves let alone the mines). It is unfortunate that IVN continually needs to kao-tao to these unbelievably undeserving people known mainly for the destruction they wreaked on near eastern and european medieval civilization (more than once - see Attila the Hun). Its time to find a stick to go with the numerous carrots. I'm tired of hearing how IVN "approves" of the Mongolian democratic (read:blackmail) process. IVN can't trust people who will never trust them.
Others opinions would be welcome.
