Montreal, Quebec, Canada- Mackenzie I. Watson, President and CEO of Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (FWR – TSX:V) (the “Company”) today reiterates the favourable location of the Company’s McFaulds property in relation to the new copper discovery recently announced by Noront Resources Ltd. (NOT – TSX-V) on their Condor/Greenstone option (see Noront News Release dated August 29, 2007). The subject properties are located in the Sachigo greenstone belt in the James Bay Lowlands of northern Ontario.
Freewest’s McFaulds property consists of 9 mineral claims comprising 22.7 square kilometres and is located approximately 4 kilometres east-northeast of Noront’s new copper discovery and 6 kilometres to the west-southwest of the volcanic-hosted massive sulphide discoveries (McFaulds 1, 2 & 3)made by Spider Resources Inc. and KWG Resources Inc in 2003 and 2004. The new mineral discoveries are located along an east-northeast trending magnetic high reflecting the underlying lithologies of the southern limb of the Sachigo greenstone belt.

Four (4) of the 9 mineral claims (10 square kilometres) comprising the McFauld’s property are owned outright by Freewest Resources Canada Inc. The remaining 5 claims comprising 12.7 square kilometres, are currently under option to Spider Resources Inc. and KWG Resources Inc. (Spider-KWG JV). On the latter, the Spider-KWG JV may earn a 50% interest in them by spending C$3,000,000 on exploration over a four-year period. The joint-venture may earn a 60% interest on the claims by delivering a bankable feasibility on any mineralization identified and a cumulative 65% by arranging project financing to put such mineralization into commercial production.
Notably, the Spider-KWG JV intersected high-grade chrome and associated nickel-platinum-group-element mineralization while drilling the optioned property in 2006. The drilling yielded up to 23.70% chrome in at least 2 horizons within a peridotite host rock.
