Canadian Operations segment includes the exploration for, development of, and production of oil, NGLs, natural gas and other activities within Canada. Market Optimization segment is primarily responsible for the sale of the Company’s production to third-party customers and enhancing the associated netback price. The segment’s activities also include third-party purchases and sales of product to provide operational flexibility.

On second thought, if the Alberta government is still a large shareholder and has a great influence on Encana, why would the CEO of Encana trying to embarass the hand which fed him? It is obvious that boards established by the provincial Government (like the EUB and the ASC)think they are a self serving institution and are appointed by themselves and don't have to have any consideration for the people of this province.I think it is time for a political change and a new broom.
