Canadian Operations segment includes the exploration for, development of, and production of oil, NGLs, natural gas and other activities within Canada. Market Optimization segment is primarily responsible for the sale of the Company’s production to third-party customers and enhancing the associated netback price. The segment’s activities also include third-party purchases and sales of product to provide operational flexibility.

Have you ever heard of peak oil? Unless the oil drops to under $30 which is highly unlikely with diminishing reserves, the oil companies have no where to go.Besides, their loss won't be as great for them as it seems. If they pay more to Alberta , they have to pay less to Ottawa and Ottawa's budget surplus is larger than Alberta's.
