RE: Other news todayI have to agree with Mr Macrae here. A very shortsighted policy by the "steady eddy" brigade. What most Albertans dont understand is that Alberta gets most of its present royalties from Natural Gas wells. As evidenced by CNRL this week, there is going to be less gas wells drilled over the next few years. Btw Encana and CNRL, i would venture to say that they have drilled over 40% of the gas wells over the last few years! Sure they are going to more of the oilsands but that is a net profits interest, so only Suncor and Syncrude pay royalties right now. The other projects wont be profitable for years.. So really Allan is right, they should have done something to encourage NG drilling in AB..Less wells will mean LOWER Royalities down the road. Screw the Oil business.. it looks good politically. Decisions on drilling are not made in Edmonton. CNRL proved that this week. Bigbadun'
