I came across your thread here while researching Bullboards to write about in Buzz on the Boards...

It's true that the inbox on the old site and the inbox on the new site are incompatible. That is because the two sites are built on different databases, so the content is constrained to the site it originated on (but not for Bullboards posts themselves).

This is trouble for everyone, including SH staff. For me, when I want to indicate on a Bullboard that I've sent someone a private msg to their inbox, I make sure to say which site it's on, like: "pastorboy - pls chk beta inbox EOM" or something to that effect.

Anyway, that's the long and the short of it right now.
