RE: nopoo here is a link for your DD.
NOPOO:
The important information re: Tailings Disposal Area:
The engineering group when formulating the Feasibility Study after considering all options available, determined that the most cost effective, best case, and easiest tailings containment area was construction of a NEW TAILINGS STORAGE FACILITY, [TSF] LOCATED WITHIN MINE LEASE BOUNDARY. [see page 35 in the link, you can see the old TSF, as well as the new [TSF]].
The five world class engineering companies contracted to do the study, with no input from NGD, made that determination and as you can see from the plan, the approval for the mining lease is based on this fact.
So to summarize:
NGD has implemented the approved engineering study and will build their own tailings pond contained on their own property with no foreseen problems environmental or otherwise.
The short and simple is this:
NGD has a tailings facility of their own, that means NGD do not need AME's tailings pond.
This fact is contrary to your posting copied below.
Good luck bt.

Hi stokpiker
I think AME will be bought by the new NewGold. Somebody could pick Abacus up for somewhere between $1-$1.50. Nowis a good time to be shopping for assets like AME.
"Abacusalso has the added advantage of owning significant infrastructure inthe Afton Camp including tailings dams, mill infrastructure, waterrights, and all relevant permits."
You could pick AME up forless than the cost of the above. Maybe a lot less considering New Goldhas NO place for a tailings pond.
