Tom Landers credentials

Tom Landers credentialsthis guy is a perfect fit.......

with Algoma, he would have established close working relationships with the First Nations chiefs and from an MNDM perspective he is an equally compelling project advocate - he has undertaken mining and mine closure work in the area.....

this also gives his former employers algoma a lot more confidence in the project..... dont forget they have a 10% royalty and who knows they may eventually partake in future fundings once the bulk sample is completed......

I wish Mr Landers (and the town Wawa) every success over the next couple of years....

Mr. Landers is a mining engineer with a Masters of Science degree (rock mechanics, 1986) from Queen’s
University, Ontario and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. During his
professional career he has filled various positions at Algoma Steel Inc. (now Essar Steel Algoma),
involving mine and project management including positions as Chief Mine Engineer, Mine Manager and
Project Manager. He has been intimately involved in mine design, mine management and optimization
and has published articles on these topics. The primary focus of Mr. Lander’s efforts has been directed
towards Algoma Steel’s mining properties in Northern Ontario, particularly the Wawa area and Northern
Michigan, USA and during this period, 1974 to 1998, he resided in Wawa. From 1992 to 1999 he was the
Manager of Mines for Algoma Steel Inc., overseeing the Wawa area iron ore mines and consulting on
Algoma’s Michigan open pit operations. As a Project Manager at Essar Steel, one of his most recent
projects was managing  Essar Steel Algoma “Closure Plan for the MacLeod Mine”
and expediting its’
development, execution and approval.
Mr. Lander’s rationale for accepting this position with Dianor is described by him as follows “I have
followed the Leadbetter Project closely from the very beginning. Consequently, I am aware of its’
tremendous potential and as a mining engineer, am excited at the opportunity to help advance it. The
town of Wawa is also very special to me; I met my wife Mia, there. We raised our family in Wawa.
Reconnecting with our Wawa roots is a bonus.”
Mr. Landers’ combination of mine and project management experience, as well as his familiarity with the
Wawa area, make him the ideal Manager for the Leadbetter Project. Currently the permitting process for
the bulk sampling is progressing through the Provincial Government with a governmental Inter-Agency
Meeting scheduled for September 26 th 2008. Shortly thereafter public and First Nations presentations and
consultations will commence followed by formal submittal to the Director of the Mineral Development
and Lands Branch of the MNDM (Ministry of Northern Development and Mining) for final approval to
proceed with the bulk sampling.
