However, as a former ARU investor (now Kinross), I have followed, lived and died by the antics of the Correa government for over two years.  They have not done a single right thing towards building a mining industry in Ecuador.  All they have accomplished was create more clouds and doubts. 

Like not so long ago the 70% windfall tax was supposedly dead and reported publicly by the deputy mining minster, only to have that retracted (also publicly) later on.  I would not take anything from that government at all unless they actually ACTED on it.   Their words are meaningless.  Yes, that would include those from Raphael Correa himself.   

I have two plus years of torment from them already and a loss of about 50% of what I invested in ARU to pay for this lesson.  Actually the 50% loss was not that bad, my CGP investment is only worth 6% of what I invested in this company (94% loss).  That's why I commented "why sell CGP, there is nothing left to salvage".

Can you spell tax write-off?
