Advantage Forterra

Advantage ForterraGreat to see discussion come alive on the board !

While using worm castings as a natural fertilizer/soil enhancement is not new, developing a product that consistently delivers the same high quality end product and being the first to bring it to the markets' masses is very advantageous. The world is now environmentally more aware of the hazards of chemical fertilizers and governments, like the Province of Ontario for example, have moved to ban their use. This is an excellent time to be introducing an organic fertilizer product and creating brand recognition. Forterra's management have already secured the name "Wormsense" and its seems a worthy choice for the brand name of Forterra's products IMHO.

While the production of Forterra's product itself owes its entire design to Mother Nature and therefore cannot be patented, posters here have correctly pointed out that it is the large scale production of a consistent high quality organic fertilizer product for sale to the masses that separates Forterra from others in its category. Forterra will be first to market and that is an advantage.

The benefits of the product speak for themselves...

As composting red wormseat food scraps, manure, and other organic substances, they excrete tiny pellets calledworm castingsor organic fertilizer.Organic gardeners rely on this method of worm compostingbecause this organic fertilizerbalances the soil’s PH and helps retain moisture. Other benefits of theorganic lawn fertilizerare improved drainage and aerationof the soil through aggregate formation.

Unlike chemical fertilizers that can burn tender roots, worm castingsis organic fertilizerthat is safe to use at any concentration. Organic fertilizerprovides strong beneficial control over plant pathogens and harmfulroots-eating nematodes, giving you an excellent organic insect and disease repellent.

Plants love organic fertilizermade from worm castings!Along with many other trace elements and micro-nutrients, castings have 5-11 times more nitrogen, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, potash, and magnesium than topsoil.

The minerals are water-soluble and time-released, so they are easily available to the plant when the plant needsthem, both immediately and long-term.

This organic fertilizeris safe ! There is no need to fear overuse or misuse. Use as little or as much as you like.No mixing, no measuring, and no chemical odor. (Castingshave a rich, earthy smell). Simply add to the soil and waterthe plants. And there's more! Worm castingsare ALIVE with beneficial bacteria and other organisms that actuallypull additional nutrients from the air. Your soil is healthier so your plants are healthier.
