Barker Minerals Appoints New Chief Financial Officer and Director

Prince George, B.C., May 20, 2008 – Barker Minerals Ltd. (“BML” on TSX/V) CEO/President, Louis Doyle is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert H. Kuhl M.A., M.Ed., CIM as the new Chief Financial Officer and as a director of the Company.

Mr. Kuhl has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Kuhl began his financial services career with a futures based mutual fund and has closely followed the commodities and resource markets since the beginning of his career. Immediately prior to joining the Company as Vice President of Corporate Communications in September 2007, he served for five years as a licensed financial advisor with an investment strategy focused on the resource sector, particularly precious and base metals. He is and has been for many years a significant investor in Barker Minerals.

The Company wishes to extend its gratitude to Mr. Jerry Kristian, a long-standing director of the Company who graciously agreed to serve as the interim CFO until the appointment of Mr. Kuhl.
