 IZZY by Peter C Newman.

Picked up the book at my local library, this week, after being on the wait for a while, as it was only released in January. Am currently about 1/3 of the way through.

Being a former Winipegger, I already knew a lot about Izzy Asper's contributions to his hometown, from the Asper Centre in the River Heights area of the city, to Canwest Global Park where the Northern League, Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team plays, overlooking the historic convergence of the Assiniboine and Red Rivers. But, the book is a fascinating story on the man and his drive to set up, as we all now know, the Global Television Network, the overseas television networks and, the purchase of the National Post from Conrad Black. The book moves along quickly, is light and entertaining. I am thoroughly enjoying it.
