RE: AustraliaAxia's model is to set up in-country subsidiaries, with each project managed and staffed by locals. The Calgary team handles overall administrative and corporate functions, but any employment related to the project would be created in Australia. When dealing with government, anything is possible...but I'd be surprised if the Australians turn out to be as myopic as you suggest. IMO, it's most likely that Axia would be a part of some sort of consortium, and any potential criticism could be easily dealt with by laying out a plan that demonstrates Axia's policy is to hire Australians. As far as capital is concerned, the vast majority of the investment will go into the build; the only cash coming back to Canada will be the evntual profit...not unlike any other "foreign" firm operating in Australia, Canada, the U.S. or any other country in the world. At any rate, in the absence of ANY reliable information this is all pure specualation...what's playing out behind closed doors is known only to the people behind the doors.
