SPDR Portfolio Short Term Treasury ETF T.SST.U

Primary Symbol: SPTS

The investment seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Bloomberg Barclays 1-3 Year U. The fund invests at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index and in securities that the Adviser determines have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the economic characteristics of the securities that comprise the index. The index is designed to measure the performance of short term (1-3 years) public obligations of the U.S. Treasury.

RE: RE: Status of Vote

RE: RE: Status of VoteFirst off, the deal will occur.

For one, SST would never have announced it without confidence that they'd have enough voutes, plus they already have 20%+ to start with.

Second, the stock is trading with almost no arb in it, meaining the deal is 99% likely to happen.

Third, given this horrible environment, plus the ongoing risk of falling copper prices (not to mention the lower multiple SST has gotten as a result), you'd be nuts to prefer a stand alone SST over a combined SST/SLW.

Fourth, eventually the CS guys would have been required to sell the company (or leave it entirely, which ain't happening) due to the conflict of interest.

Fifth, most stockholders (like myself) won't even vote, so most of the electorate will be assigned YES votes by proxy.

Be happy with the gift you've received, b/c without this deal the stock is right back to $1 in a heartbeat, and will constantly be held down by these issues.
