RE: Oil keeps up while N.G keeps down, funny.

RE: Oil keeps up while N.G keeps down, funny. The simplistic and commonly held view is that you buy oil and oil plays in May (and through the summer)  because of the summer driving season - whereas NG you buy in the early Fall/ though winter, -  And usually this would be the right play.
However, we are not, and have not been in normal circumstances since the market free fall that started around  July last year.  Nor has this correction/recession been your average one.
I have a gut feeling that this will be the year when the usual wisdom is proven wrong,  and NG/NG plays will be the smart move.
Why do I say this ?  Because both the commodity and the gas producers have been beaten up beyond belief by the shorting of NG which in turn has forced most producers to cut distributions to maintain some cash flow.
The reality is that at some point - in the not too distant future - the economy will begin to pull out of recession, and - at about the same time the 'smart money' (having bought up the producers at bargain basement prices) - will be pointing out how NG is in short supply, following massive cut backs in drilling and production, -  thus driving up both the commodity and their 'book' of natural gas producers.
Quite frankly its all a game and all about timing
In all likelyhood a year from now we will all be wondering why we didnt buy even more of these companies at current prices -  just IMHO of course.

PS - When theyv'e squeezed every last drop by shorting NG and the tide is turning in such an obvious way that they can no longer play the demand destruction card - NG will rapidly begin to recover.
