This seems like a key achievement for Sensio. This is what I understand so far as I went through the press releases of the last year:
Sensio is the only 3D format that can compress a signal (Patent)
Sensio transports 3D HD signal. High definition and high quality
Sensio is the only official 3D format for the DVD format (DVD forum)
Sensio is the only 3D format that is compatible with the actual communication infrastructure (without adding bandwith)
Sensio is the only format that has a proven track record with internet, software, TV, Cinema, Live events, Satellite, video games (Ubisoft - Avatar3D game) portable devices such as cell phones,...
With this announcement, Sensio is now: the only technology that has been integrated in a set-top box (for those who don't know, a set-up box is the cable box we have with Rogers or Shaw). This is huge as it gives the broadcasters a way to sell 3D content (3D channels or Pay per view) to the consumers as the signal can travel through the actual infrastructure without the need for additional bandwith.
This is also good news for the studios as the films will not only be available on DVD and Blu-Ray in the future. With internet, the 3D productions will be more and more available on demand and Sensio offers the only distribution alternative for broadcasters and movie studios.
