RE: BioFuels and EnzymesIt didn't take long to see that using corn for biofuels drastically alters food costs, consumes huge fertilizer and input costs and is not sustainable in the long term as a biofule, so research is taking place to uncover the necessary enzymes (enzymes are costly) that can be used to effectively break down cheaper cellulose based fuel sources such as wood chips.
Plant proteins evidently may be the key to doing so. Hence Medicago and their expertise in this area.
