RE: Open priceSomeone is just trying to be "cute".  Like you I used to think that the pre-opening bids have some relevance, but they don't. 
Once the market opens these "people" already pull their "asks" and "bids" back.  Basically they are put in there trying to influence the direction of the market for the day. 

Sometime it works sometimes they don't. Sometime they even sacrifice a few shares trying to pull the market the way they want and got burned (deservedly so, if I may say).  

The stock market is the most deceitful place in the world.  By comparison a casino would be like a - church.  Just my view anyway.
