I totally agree with you - they should keep it in house.
Lawrence was hired because of his skills - therefore he should bring in his skills into the company.
I'm, for example, running a company (lets call it 'Stupid') - don't you think it would look quite strange, if I would found another company (Smart) to charge for that job I'm doing for 'Stupid'?
