RE: RE: RE: RE: TWU-STT.........higher achieversTechPerson you are correct in that these two scabs don't get any Telus or union benefits.
However, since they both have working spouses, all the important medical/dental ones are covered off - and they do pocket the $1500 of union dues they do NOT have to pay - plus pay in lieu of vacation time is the norm.
The only benefit they really DO miss is the pension, so they have to look after that themselves and are doing well - one has even bought lots of Telus shares for the dividend and potential capital appreciation.
And both of them pointed out that, when the next strike takes place later this year, they will really clean up once again by getting paid plenty of overtime while the union workers are getting paid starvation strike pay.
It will take years for the union workers to get back what they lost and by that time they will be right back into another strike and do this again and again and again.
So all in all these two scabs/contractors are quite satisfied with their situations and they feel real good about themselves knowing they can do it on their own without the big union support line.
Hey, what's this that I don't post anything but negative union stuff? What about all my posts about the juicy Telus dividends and their prudent financial management?
And what about your constant negative Telus and pro union posts? Seems to me a nice balance on this board is appropriate!
