Xstrata Connection

Xstrata ConnectionI have to say I was curious bout the whole Xstrata/SLAM connection.  I realize that their Brunswick Mine will close in the next year, leaving hundreds of workers that recently signed a 3 year contract out of work, as well as their smelter without feed.  I was a bit wary if they'd still be interested in a deposit the size of Nash Creek (10 million tonnes).

Then lo and behold, today it was announced that Xstrata will immediately begin development of their Quebec deposit that DON is earning 50% in by paying $25 mil.  That deposit hosts 3.6 MT though at higher grades.
Interesting that they're advancing a small deposit such as this, holding only 50%.

Remember that line from eResearch report about SXL attracting the attention of Xstrata.
