RE: Far From Over for VAE
RE: Far From Over for VAEI don't need pumping. You can't pump up anything that has a hole as big as VAE unless they put a patch on. I have been a shareholder for 5years going back to the Santoy (SAN) days and have a not insignifiant investment in the final outcome of VAE Coles Hill and the Blizzard projects. I am not about to give up now because I believe that nuclear energy should be the way of the future for however long it takes to find sustainable energy from other sources...clearly there are alternatives..wind, hydro, solar... but most need a lot more work before they are really economical.
My grouse, and I think others is the complete lack of information . Yes, if you dig you can cluge a few things together but I shouldn't have to do that. If it is public domain information, then once a month or even 3 months, a brief update would at least make us feel that we are holding on for a reason. The shareholders have a right to know anything not material or that is sensitive and that could be detrimental to the company
I believe you are naive if you think BP will be out of people's minds in year...how long ago was the Exxon Valdez? and it is still talked about every time oil and marine enviornments are mentioned and those that oppose deep drilling from rigs and pipelines underwater will see to it that it is not forgotten. There are going to be court cases over BP for the next 10 or 20 years most likely, each with the opportunity to show those pictures...no, people are not going to forget.
Better to focus on the positives of nuclear power and hopefully the study will address that but for every hundred successful nuclear power plants that have been operating for years around the world.... people will bring up Chernoble (sp?) and 3 mile Island...because of fear mongering by opponents and media hype because it makes a good story,
If and that is a big IF, they could get the Otish project promoted, then we might get a small boost in the SP. I would think about averaging down to do that. Blizzard?...depends on politics at the time running up to the courtcase to make any call on that one...there may just be a quiet go-away settlement buried deep in Victoria or as they have the deep pockets to do so, they might just wait out the company until the next election with all the attending expenses and then appeal to the voters with the " evils of uranium mining" So while mildly optimistic, I hope I live long enough to see teh outcome.
And for Cole's Hill...I don't know what to think except having a "friendly " govenor can be nothing but good but American's fight dirty and you can bet there will be cake flying but it won't be yellow if their activists have anything to do with it. The guy with the biggest stick usually wins and I think right now I can't judge who has the biggist stick is. Have to see which way the wind is blowing in 6 months or so and think about adding more then if we are still stuck in the "teens" Obama will be in his 3rd year (or close) and will have to come down on one side or the other...that is when all the stars will have to line up..Obama, the study. the govenor, not even a sniff of a nuclear accident anywhere in the world...then I shall surely buy more
Just my musings on a hot BC afternoon....time for a cold Guinness
