RE: A Racist among us

RE: A Racist among us

Wanaretire8,

You bring up a point worth further mention - that Stockhouse will not tolerate Strom's behaviour.

I have reported his abuse on every recent post that included a racial slur or innuendo. I pasted the offensive comment, explained the meaning when put in the context of an ongoing dialogue. On each abuse report, I added the following comment:

"This user has been engaged in a series of racial slurs. Taken individually his intent may be blurred, but collectively there is no doubt. I ask that the instances reported be considered collectively and that this individual be permanently banned from Stockhouse. There should be zero tolerance for these types of violations."

Any reader that finds Strom's racial comments unacceptable should consider reporting his conduct to Stockhouse and requesting his permanent suspension.  While an apology is certainly in order, I doubt that it will be forthcoming. As for agreeing to cease and desist, I doubt that he would, but regardless, I don't agree that he should be given the opportunity to continue.

I can see that some might miss the "slyness" Strom uses to slide in his slurs, but rather than repeat them - if anyone has only encountered two or three obvious racial remarks, I can assure you there are several more.

I too think Stockhouse will take action, knowing that if action is not taken here, there is a government agency that will.
