I can hold TSX, TSX-V, OTC, PINK, OPTIONS.... the only thing I can't do with my TFSA is short a stock. For that you need a margin account. However, PINKS and OTC I have to call in and get a trade exception flag put on my account to trade a specific ticker that can last for 30 days before I have to renew the flag (because they want to make people aware of the rick of trading PINKS or OTC). I never had a problem with any ticker on the TSX-V.
