Mr. James Bond reports
INSTALLATION OF FIRST KELSO MANWAY SECUREMENT SYSTEM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
A major railway tank car manufacturer will install Kelso Technologies Inc.'s first production unit of its man way securement on an existing rail tank car for fit check and operational performance evaluation.
The MSS design will be tested in transportation field trials over the next six months to ensure all design, performance, endurance and longevity requirements are met. Eight MSS units will be installed over the next few months in various industry segments of the railway industry for this testing.
The MSS is a patented revolutionary tank car system designed to replace the out-of-date eyebolt securement systems currently used. Some of these designs are over 60 years old. The MSS eliminates problematic eyebolts that cause 35 per cent of the non-accidental releases on all tank cars, should save thousands of dollars in government regulatory fines and environmental cleanup issues for users, reduce man way securing time by 80 per cent, improve worker safety, and extend man way gasket life up to 300 per cent. At the moment, the MSS is the only man way securement technology to effectively address non-accidental release of chemicals as a result of poor execution of complicated loading/unloading rack procedures and inherent weaknesses of the current eyebolt man way securement system design.
